How to select this device
High-side or low-side current sensing?
Low-side sensing is simpler but lifts the load from ground; high-side needs a common-mode range that extends to the rail (often beyond it for load dump).
What dominates the error budget?
Offset voltage and its drift over temperature, plus CMRR. Calculate the error at the smallest current you need to resolve, not at full scale.
